I am so happy with my August Stitch Fix box! This was the first time I almost kept all the items because I felt most of the items reflect my personal style and taste. For those who have never heard of Stitch Fix, it is a personal styling service. You fill out a questionnaire about your style, size and price point, and a stylist will send you a box of items. You pay a $20 styling fee, but that is credited back into your account if you keep at least one item. You pay only what you decide to keep. If you decide to keep all the items, you will receive a 25% off discount, which might be cheaper than keeping just 2-3 items. Here is my review of this month’s box and my decisions:
1. Collective Concepts Caspar Maxi Dress $98
I absolutely love this maxi dress! The colors and patterns on this dress are so pretty. I love wearing maxi dresses in the summer. The material on this dress is nice, so it’d would be better to wear to a nice dinner than to the beach.
2. Pixley Turk Bow Back Top $48
This is a fun casual summer top. I love the polka dots and the back of this top, which is a pretty bow. I don’t have very much blue in my closet either. I have a feeling I’ll get lots of wear out of this top!
3. Zad Marriot Charm Layer Necklace $28
I thought this necklace was so so. It went well with the top and the price was reasonable, but I didn’t love it.
4. Fun2Fun Corten V-Neck Top $38
This top is the complete opposite of my personal style. I don’t like the colors, the quality is poor and wrinkles very easily, and looks hippy-ish to me.
5. Papermoon Deandra Multi Strap Top $44
I think this is a very pretty top and the back strap is lovely. This was my husband’s favorite piece from this box. However, I was kind of on the fence about it because I already have a few tops with these colors, so I decided to return. If I had decided to keep this item, it would have been cheaper for me to keep all the items in this box due to the 25% discount.
As I mentioned above, if I had decided to keep 3 of the items, it would have been cheaper to keep the entire box because of the 25% discount. However, I cannot imagine ever wearing that colorful hippy top and I know none of my friends will want it either, so I decided to just keep the first two items. Overall, I am very happy with this month’s box. Let me know if you’ve used personal styling services before and what you think of them!
