August and September 2015 Glossybox

September 22, 2015

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t posted in a few days. Pre-term started last Tuesday, and I had my first final on Saturday. Regular classes started yesterday but I feel like I am still in summer mode!

With all of my travels in the last few weeks, I am way behind on my Glossybox post. I have both the August and September boxes to review. For those who don’t know what is Glossybox, it is a beauty subscription box that costs $21 a month. This is a little pricer than other beauty subscription boxes, but I love it because of the larger sized samples. I just placed my subscription on hold because I am interested in trying out a couple other beauty subscriptions, so I’ll be reviewing those in the upcoming months!

I was so excited to see City Cosmetics Complexion Perfecting Cream. It is an overnight cream that lighten dark spots, revitalize skin, combat dullness and address the appearance of blotchiness, blemishes, and discoloration. I have only tried it once so I don’t know if the product will do what it claims, but I really like the texture and it feels extremely hydrating. The sample size was large, and will probably last me a few months!

I have been using Glamglow products for years now, but I’ve never tried the mud to foam daily exfoliating cleanser, so it was such a delight to find this in the box! I haven’t used it yet but placed it in my travel box since it’s the perfect size to bring on a trip. This was my favorite item in the box!

The Sparitual Nail Lacquers nail polish is the perfect shade for fall. I did a swatch of it and it’s highly pigmented and beautiful.

I like the idea of the kajal pen pop because of the smudger on the other end, but the eye liner was not as easy to apply as some of the other eye liners I have. I had to press pretty hard for colors to come out.

I have received several samples of the benefit they’re real mascara. While I think it’s effective in volumizing, it does give me panda eye, so I won’t wear this if I need to be out for more than several hours.

Verdict: I’m extremely happy with the August Glossybox! The $21 subscription price was well worth the first two items in the box, and the others were nice to try.

The Nails Inc London nail polish in the color Uptown caught my attention immediately because of the beautiful shade! It’s a gorgeous neutral pink color that looks great with my skin tone, and I wore it to an interview the other day.

It was a bummer to receive ANOTHER benefit they’re real mascara. I have like 4 of these right now and will start giving these away to my classmates!

At first I was worried to see the plum shade of the Julep Luxe Lip but when I applied it, it came out pinkish/clear. It isn’t meant to add much color to the lips, but rather it’s to hydrate and plump. I love the metal tip because it’s cooling and the lip gloss applies nicely. What I don’t like is the smell. It’s the smell of super old lipgloss (if you know what I’m talking about) so it doesn’t motivate me to continue using this.

Emite Makeup Powder Blush in shade 108 is very pigmented, so a little bit of product goes a long way! It is a beautiful shade and I’ll be wearing this quite often this fall.

The Biossance Revitalizer nourishes the skin. The normal size is $58 so I’m happy to get a sample!

Verdict: The September box was not as exciting as my August box, and I’m disappointed that I received the same mascara two months in a row, but overall I enjoyed the product discoveries and I will be using a couple items on a regular basis.

What beauty subscription have you used and would recommend? I would love to hear in the comment section below since I want to try out some new ones. Thanks!!
